self-acupunctureHow About Acupuncture?

If you take a look at any acupuncture meridian map, you will see that in the most usual supine position with the Applicator under one's back, the acupoints involved can be expected to improve the following body functions:

• Strengthening the liver, spleen and kidney.
• Alleviating headaches, fatigue depression and insomnia.
• Activating the immune system.
• Relieving flu, cold and asthma.
• Regulating digestion and elimination.
• Improving the conditions of cystitis, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, PMS, and complicated periods.
• Easing spinal problems, sciatica, muscle spasms and cramps.

Now, one can call the method "Self-acupuncture."

This is all wonderful, but the question still exists on just how acupuncture works. Aside from metaphysical explanations about cosmic energy flow through the channel meridians, and despite the well-proven fact that acupuncture really works, there are very few proven theories.

There is a principle: not to pile on more theories than necessary. In other words, while there are still simple answers (in this case, physiological) not to bring in such exotic theories as cosmic energy. To follow that principle means to stay within the scientific paradigm.
